  • "Fair Taxation. Our tax system is unfair. The tax burden on working families has increased while rich people and huge corporations have been given tax giveaways and loopholes. That’s wrong; everyone should pay their fair share. We need to change the rules to create a tax system that works for all of us, not just the wealthy few." (freemanforkansas.com)

Pro-choice Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
I believe that it is important to protect a woman's right to choose and provide safe access to contraception and medical care. Abortion is never an easy choice, but legislating morality has never been an effective way to curb undesirable behavior. Building a social structure that supports and encourages families, while respecting the cultural and religious differences found in our pluralist society is what America needs.
Yes Do you support United States' combat operations in Afghanistan?
Yes Do you support a timetable for withdrawal from Afghanistan?
I think it is important to set clear goals that allow the Afghan people to rise to the challenge. America's role in Afghanistan is not one of continued occupation.

Indicate which proposals you support (if any) for balancing the federal budget. In order to balance the budget,

No do you support reducing defense spending?
Yes do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
No do you support reducing Medicaid spending?
No do you support reducing Medicare spending?
Yes Is balancing the budget a legislative priority?
Balancing the budget is the best way to truly serve the people's desired role of government. Legislators are to be good stewards of tax payer's money and in doing so they should protect the citizens interests by balancing the budget in the most efficient and least detrimental way to insure stability in our economy.
Yes Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
The people have a right to know where contributions come from.
Yes Do you support capital punishment for certain crimes?
I support the option. I personally would hope that life w/o parole would the option most often taken.
Yes Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
No Do you support providing tax incentives to businesses for the purpose of job creation?
Yes Do you support spending on infrastructure projects for the purpose of job creation?
Yes Do you support the temporary extension of unemployment benefits?
Yes Do you support the 2010 temporary extension of tax relief?
Yes Do you support requiring states to implement education reforms in order to be eligible for competitive federal grants?
I believe that we have much to reform within our current system.
No Do you support reducing restrictions on offshore energy production?
Protecting and conserving our environment is more important than lifting restrictions for business profits.
Yes Do you believe that human activity is contributing to climate change?
Yes Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
I believe that America should be the leader in processes and technologies that decrease levels of greenhouse gasses and carbon emissions, setting an example for the rest of the world.
No Do you support restrictions on the purchase and possession of guns?
I support the second Amendment. I do not on the other hand support people using guns against one another as tools of rage.
No Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act?
Yes Should individuals be required to purchase health insurance, as mandated in the 2010 Affordable Care Act?
Health insurance much like car insurance should be required to protect society from bearing the brunt of individual's choices without contribution from the recipient of services. Requiring citizens to pay into a system that they are never denied services from and that over a lifetime each individual takes advantage of $350,000.00 worth of care from cradle to the grave is not an unfair request in my assessment.
No Do you support requiring illegal immigrants to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
Yes Do you support allowing illegal immigrants, who were brought to the United States as minors, to pursue citizenship without returning to their country of origin?
No Do you support the enforcement of federal immigration law by state and local police?
Enforcement of federal immigration laws should be conducted by the federal departments that were formed to handle such situations. Allowing local law enforcement to conduct such duties will create inconsistencies and pockets of racial profiling and discrimination protected by law.
Yes Do you support same-sex marriage?
I believe that citizens who contribute to our society in an equal manner, as L.G.B.T. citizens do, should enjoy the same rights as heterosexuals.
Yes Do you support targeting suspected terrorists outside of official theaters of conflict?
Yes Should the U.S use military force in order to prevent Iran from possessing a nuclear weapon?
Only as a last resort. I believe that the American people are weary of war, and that leading the charge is a costly endeavor.
No Do you support allowing individuals to divert a portion of their Social Security taxes into personal retirement accounts?
The Social Safety net should not be further eroded by removing barriers set in place to protect against the pitfalls of personal investment and the risk that comes with it.

Prisons: We can greatly decrease the amount spent on incarceration through reform of marijuana laws.
Marijuana taxes: Reform of marijuana laws would significantly increase revenue as opposed to losing money to out of country drug cartels.
Job Creation: is the first of my priorities. I believe that it is important to create an environment in which Americans can earn a living wage and provide for their families. Education: the second of my priorities is to reform & re-fund education. We must supply our future leaders with the skills that will empower them to become antonymous individuals. End Mass Incarceration: The Drug wars have led to implementation of racially biased and unfair laws. Misinformation and years of pernicious indoctrination have led to the incarceration of millions of Americans. Reform of marijuana laws is a must.
